Job summary

Northrop Grumman Australia seeks a KC-30A Field Service Representative to work with RAAF operations and maintenance teams, ensuring air mobility and aerial refuelling readiness. This hands-on role targets an experienced licensed engineer who makes informed decisions when aircraft availability matters.

You will travel with the squadron and collaborate with maintainers, engineers, and defence personnel, bridging the flight line with the broader sustainment team to deliver mission-ready

Qualifications

• Licensed A330/KC-30A engineer (CASA or DASA) with B1/B2 ratings.
• Experience as a certifier on the A330 or KC-30A platform.
• Strong operational or flight line experience within Defence or commercial aviation.

The Role:

As a KC-30A Field Service Representative, you'll work alongside RAAF operations and maintenance teams, helping keep one of Australia's most important air mobility and air-to-air refuelling capabilities available and mission ready. This is a hands‑on role for an experienced licensed engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working directly with operators, and being trusted to make informed decisions when aircraft availability is on the line.

The team supports Amberley operations around the clock and provides technical support wherever the aircraft goes. That includes domestic and international travel alongside Squadron activities when required. You'll work closely with maintainers, engineers, program stakeholders and Defence personnel, acting as a key link between the flight line and the broader sustainment team.

Success in this role is as much about people as it is technical expertise. The strongest performers build relationships quickly, work through challenges pragmatically and help resolve issues without creating unnecessary friction.

Key Responsibilities

About You

• CASA or DASA A330/KC-30A B1 and/or B2 licensed engineer.
• Experience as a certifier on the A330 or KC-30A platform.
• Strong operational or flight line experience within Defence or commercial aviation environments.
• Experience exercising Engineering Authority, Release Authority, or working towards these responsibilities.
• Known for building strong working relationships, sharing knowledge and approaching problems with a practical, solutions‑focused mindset.
• Someone who enjoys working directly with customers, operators and maintainers and takes pride in helping a team achieve the best outcome.

If you're supporting the KC-30A fleet today, have supported it previously, or you're an experienced A330 certifier interested in applying your expertise in an operational Defence environment.
