Job summary

WesTrac is seeking a Field Service Plant Mechanic in Dubbo to service, maintain and repair Caterpillar equipment across multiple customer sites. You will manage your own workload, travel to remote sites, and deliver high‑quality service in a dynamic regional environment.

You will perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance and major repairs, while building strong customer relationships and contributing to safety and efficiency in the field.

Qualifications

• Australian recognised mechanical trade qualification is required.
• Experience with heavy diesel and earthmoving equipment preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Current unrestricted driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnostics, fault finding and troubleshooting.
• Breakdown response and emergency repairs.
• Major component replacements and repairs.
• Machine inspections and condition reporting.
• Building strong customer relationships onsite.
• Working across Caterpillar mining, construction and earthmoving equipment.
