Job summary

Central Lift Trucks is seeking a motivated Mechanic / Field Service Technician to join our growing team on the Central Coast, Newcastle and Hunter Valley. You’ll perform servicing and diagnostics across a range of forklift and access equipment, with a mobile field role offering autonomy and direct customer interaction.

We value hands-on mechanics with strong fault-finding abilities, and offer industry training, flexible start times, and a late-model service vehicle.

Qualifications

  • Current Class C Driver's Licence.
  • Relevant trade qualification (Light Vehicle, Heavy Vehicle or Diesel Mechanic).
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Basic computer literacy and confidence using mobile technology.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on forklifts.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
  • Attend customer breakdowns and provide on-site solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with customers through professional service.
  • Complete service reports and invoices using the service app.
  • Assist with repair quotations and recommendations.
  • Work independently with support from the team.

About the Opportunity

We're looking for a motivated and capable Mechanic / Field Service Technician to join our growing team.

Whether you’re an experienced access or forklift technician, or a qualified mechanic looking to move into the industry, we’d love to hear from you. If you have strong mechanical skills, diagnostic experience and a willingness to learn, we can provide the industry-specific training you need to get started.

This is a mobile field service role where you'll enjoy variety, autonomy and direct customer interaction while working on a wide range of forklift and access equipment.

What You'll Be Doing

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on forklifts.
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
  • Attending customer breakdowns and providing effective solutions on-site.
  • Building strong relationships with customers through professional and friendly service.
  • Completing service reports and invoices using our easy-to-use service app.
  • Assisting with the preparation of repair quotations and recommendations.
  • Working independently while having the full support of an experienced team behind you.
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence.
  • Relevant trade qualification (Light Vehicle, Heavy Vehicle or Diesel Mechanic).
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Basic computer literacy and confidence using mobile technology.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Highly Regarded (But Not Essential)
  • Previous forklift or access repair experience.
  • LPG qualification.
  • Forklift licence.
  • Hydraulic systems experience.
  • Auto electrical experience.
