Overview
The Harry James Group are working in partnership with an energy storage solutions provider who are currently expanding due to current and new projects secured. The position of Field Service Engineer will be part the growing team delivering exceptional results. The applicant should have a solid understanding of fundamental electrical engineering, transformers, inverters and troubleshooting electrical components.
Responsibilities
- As Field Service Technician / Field Service Engineer in Battery Energy Storage Systems, you will be involved in a dynamic mix of technical and customer-focused tasks. You will perform field service activities, ensuring our battery energy storage systems operate seamlessly. This includes supporting project teams during commissioning, addressing technical issues promptly and proposing improvements to enhance product quality and reduce costs.
- Your role will also involve maintaining strong relationships with customers through effective communication and service, preparing detailed analytical reports and acting as a technical advisor during customer meetings. You will spend at least 50% of your time on-site, directly engaging with customers and resolving issues hands-on.
- – Perform field service activities as per long-term service agreements.
- – Conduct BESS planned and unplanned maintenance.
- – Support project teams during commissioning of battery energy storage systems.
- – Address and report warranty and technical issues and propose product improvements.
- – Maintain customer relationships through effective communication.
- – Prepare and present service reports with recommendations.
- – Act as a technical advisor to customer meetings.
- – Write service work reports and maintain documentation.
Requirements
- BSc. in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering or any relevant experience in the field of Battery Storage and Solar (PV)
- Electrical & Automation System and solution knowledge
- Electrical & Automation Mechanical System and solution knowledge e.g., HVAC a plus
- Experience with programmable logic controllers, frequency drives, electrical protection devices, computer systems, Ethernet networks, firewalls, OPC-servers, and PLC
- Experience in electrical and/or mechanical installations and commissioning
- Experience in commissioning new power plants as an electrical and automation or mechanical Engineer a plus
- Experience with Energy Storage System
- Leading field tests and developing new products with customers and research and development organizations within the company
- Customer understanding
- Good in Written, and Spoken English
- Local working permits, certifications a plus and knowledgeable of local regulations
- Willing and available for travel (domestic and international) up to 60% of the time
- Car driver’s license
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
