Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Field Service Engineer to lead as Abiomed's first dedicated engineer in Australia, delivering end-to-end technical support for life-changing heart recovery technology.

The role covers installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and strong hospital partnerships across Australia and APAC, with travel required and a base in Sydney, NSW.

Qualifications

  • Bring 3+ years of field service experience in medical devices, biomedical engineering or hospital equipment support.
  • Be able to travel across Australia and APAC with a valid driver’s license.
  • Experience with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical or software-driven equipment.

  • Deliver end-to-end field service across Australia and APAC, from installation and maintenance to troubleshooting and upgrades.
  • Provide trusted technical support to hospitals, distributors and internal teams, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
  • Plan and execute service visits with the right parts, tools, documentation and follow-up actions.
  • Maintain accurate service records and assets, including equipment history, spare parts, loan devices and calibration.
  • Champion quality and compliance by following medical device standards, SOPs and escalation requirements.
  • Build the future of APAC service operations through process improvement, training and global collaboration.
  • Support service agreement activities, including quotations, renewals, and distributor or customer communication.

The Opportunity

Lead the way as Abiomed's first dedicated Field Service Engineer in Australia, delivering critical technical support for life-changing heart recovery technology. Responsibilities

About You

  • Take ownership and work independently, proactively solving problems and delivering accurate, timely service documentation.
  • Thrive in a start-up environment, helping develop practical processes, tools and workflows from the ground up.
  • Be ready to travel across Australia and APAC, with a valid driver's licence; SAP, Salesforce or service-process experience is an advantage.
