Job summary

Stryker South Pacific is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support a diverse portfolio of medical technologies across hospitals and surgical facilities in Australia. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose complex issues, and ensure compliant service delivery while building strong clinician partnerships.

The role requires travel within the state at short notice, hands-on mechanical work, and collaboration with multiple internal teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on Stryker medical equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues onsite and remotely.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and build relationships with clinicians and hospital staff.
  • Support customers across hospitals and surgical facilities.
  • Ensure service activities meet quality, regulatory, and compliance requirements ISO 13485.
  • Manage inventory, spare parts, and service documentation accurately.
  • Meet service KPIs relating to responsiveness, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Technical Support, Customer Service, and Operations teams.

What You'll Be Working On

You’ll support a diverse portfolio of innovative healthcare technologies, including but not limited to: Mako™ a system used for robotic-assisted orthopaedic surgery Operating Tables used in theatres for surgery Neptune™ Waste Management Systems used to manage surgical fluid waste Theatre solutions that connect imaging, video, and communication systems within the operating theatre

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on Stryker medical equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues both onsite and remotely.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with clinicians, biomedical teams, and hospital stakeholders.
  • Support customers across hospitals and surgical facilities.
  • Ensure service activities meet quality, regulatory, and compliance requirements ISO 13485.
  • Manage inventory, spare parts, and service documentation accurately.
  • Meet service KPIs relating to responsiveness, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Technical Support, Customer Service, and Operations teams to achieve outstanding customer outcomes.

Work Flexibility
  • Remote – Role allows you to work the majority to 100% of time from an alternate workplace. These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location.
  • Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based.
  • Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category.
  • Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
