Job summary

BuildRight Construction AU seeks an experienced industrial electrician to work in specialised field-service environments, supporting critical lifting and material-handling equipment. You will diagnose electrical faults, perform maintenance and work across diverse industrial sites, developing knowledge of cranes, hoists, gantries and control systems.

Qualifications

• Must have Cert III in Electrotechnology or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Current Electrical Licence or Provisional Electrical Licence.
• Demonstrated experience in industrial electrical work.
• Practical PLC fault-finding and diagnostic experience.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and controls.
• Ability to independently diagnose faults and complete repairs.
• Strong mechanical awareness and willingness to learn specialised lifting equipment systems.
• Willingness to travel regionally as required.
• Good communication, reporting and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults across industrial lifting equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and routine electrical inspections.
• Attend equipment breakdowns and complete urgent electrical repairs.
• Service overhead cranes, gantries, hoists and related industrial systems.
• Test and commission electrical and control systems.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, motors, contactors, VSDs, limit switches and control circuits.
• Identify recurring faults and apply practical diagnostic solutions.
• Maintain accurate service records, reports and maintenance documentation.
• Work directly at customer industrial sites with a high level of field autonomy.
• Travel to regional and occasional inter-state locations when required.
• Participate in the rotating on-call roster.
• Work approximately 50-55 hours per week where required, including guaranteed overtime.
