Job summary

The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action in Victoria is seeking a Field Operations Supervisor to lead staff involved in forest and fire operations. You will manage and deliver fire prevention works and forest management activities across state forests and public land.

You’ll oversee the workcentre, plan projects, and ensure use of plant, machinery, and equipment. The role includes emergency response deployments across Victoria and requires a current manual Driver’s Licence.

Qualifications

• Experience managing works programs in planned burning or forest management
• Experience and understanding of forest firefighting techniques and emergency response activities
• Current manual Driver's Licence (conditions A, I & V not acceptable)
• Willingness to deploy across Victoria for fire suppression and planned burning
• Pre-employment screening including medical and fitness requirements

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff within the workcentre and plan/deliver projects using plant, machinery and equipment
• Deliver a wide range of operational tasks including fire prevention works and forest management
• Support emergency response activities and potential deployments across Victoria
