Job summary

Cleanaway is seeking a Field Maintenance Technician based at Erskine Park NSW Depot to inspect, repair and maintain waste bins and related equipment across customer sites. You will operate a company vehicle, liaise with customers, manage stock, and complete safe, timely maintenance documentation.

The role requires hands-on maintenance skills, the ability to work independently, and a strong focus on safety and customer service. NSW driver’s licence and WHS knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience using cordless hand tools and general maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely and follow workplace procedures.
• Strong problem‑solving and fault‑finding skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Experience completing maintenance, repair, or field service tasks.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Current NSW Driver's Licence and a clean driving record.
• Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
• Understanding of equipment maintenance and repair practices.
• Ability to complete reports and maintain accurate records.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and administrative tasks.
• Understanding of stock control and inventory management processes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out field maintenance and repairs on waste bins and equipment.
• Adhere to all company and client site safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Complete site inductions and work in accordance with client regulations and site rules.
• Operate and maintain a company‑provided vehicle, including daily vehicle inspections (DVRs).
• Ensure company vehicles are kept clean, safe, and roadworthy.
• Liaise with Customer Service regarding bins that cannot be repaired and arrange replacements as required.
• Update and monitor stock levels of maintenance consumables and report replenishment requirements.
• Deliver replacement bins to customers when repairs are not possible.
• Complete maintenance reports and documentation accurately and on time.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance activities to minimise equipment breakdowns and prolong asset life.
• Provide excellent customer service while attending client sites.
• Assist in ensuring client waste management requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner.
