Job summary

Orica is seeking Field Maintenance Technicians to support our East Coast Metals Mining Services team with field-based maintenance and breakdown support across mobile and fixed plant equipment. FIFO from Brisbane, Cairns, or Townsville, with a regular 8/6 roster, helps keep operations across the Mount Isa region running safely and efficiently.

You will diagnose and repair mechanical faults, perform scheduled servicing, and contribute to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement on site.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose and repair heavy vehicle or plant equipment faults.
• Strong commitment to safety, risk awareness, and compliance.
• Ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
• Problem-solving mindset with a focus on quality and service delivery.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience with Volvo trucks or mining equipment.
• Exposure to auto electrical systems.
• Knowledge of explosives-related compliance (AEC, ADG, MPU, AS2187).
• HR license or similar.
• Queensland Explosives Security Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
