Fire and Safety Industries is seeking an entry level Fire Suppression Technician to join our Brisbane region team. Based out of Mansfield QLD, the role trains you in servicing and installation across mining, construction and agriculture sectors.

After training you will perform diagnostics, servicing and repairs on mobile equipment, with a focus on safety, quality and customer support. A valid driver’s licence and a proactive, team‑oriented attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be safety‑minded with a commitment to WHS.
• Mechanical aptitude or trade experience preferred but not essential.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostics abilities.
• Hold a valid and current driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high‑level servicing and maintenance on mobile equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform diagnostic tests to identify root causes of malfunctions or system failures.
• Collaborate with team members to complete repairs and installations and learn from peers.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to clients and end users on our systems.
• Attend to client callouts to keep assets safe and working.

Fire and Safety Industries is a privately-owned Australian Company specialising in the manufacture, supply, installation and servicing of Fire Suppression Systems for the Mining, Construction and Agriculture Industries. Our Head Office is in Brisbane, with multiple branches in Northern and Southern regions of the east-coast and a distribution network across Australia; both west-coast and east-coast and a growing market share in international regions.

The Position:

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, highly motivated Service and Installs Technician based out of our Brisbane Region. Mechanically minded is preferred and our Training Department will train you in the rest!

At the completion of formal training, and with continued on-the-job training, the role will be servicing customers throughout the Mining Industry. Working from our Brisbane Region and local mine sites, your responsibilities and duties will include:

• Safety by looking after yourself and others to maintain our very high standard of WHS and supporting our value that "safety is and always will be our first priority”.
• Quality Work by conducting a high level of servicing and maintenance on mobile equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Curiosity by performing diagnostic tests to identify the root cause of equipment malfunctions or system failures.
• Collaborating with team members to complete repairs and installations, continuously learn from each other, and help to make our FSI own systems even better.
• Knowledge sharing by providing technical assistance and guidance to clients and end users on our systems.
• Strong Relationships with our clients and attending to client call outs to ensure we assist them to keep their assets safe and working!

About You:

• Must be committed to safety.
• A mechanical trade, service maintenance, air-conditioning experience, or similar industry related skills preferred however not essential.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostics ability and a sense of wanting to continuously improve.
• Agile, energetic with a can-do attitude and enjoy working in outdoor environments.
• Comfortable to be able to work alone or within a team as needed.
• Great communicator – you can talk a lot or a little, as long as you can get your point across clearly, can connect with clients and your team in a genuine way, and still get the work done.
• Hold a valid and current driver’s licence.
