Job summary

Babcock International Group, a defence and engineering services contractor, seeks a seasoned Electrical Engineer to support Platform and Marine systems, delivering engineering and waterfront support for vessels.

You will review technical responses, undertake analysis and development for Technical Instructions, conduct defect investigations, and prepare TM200s for urgent rectification, while growing through training and study leave.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Washington Accord).
• Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain Defence Clearance.
• Experience in design, operation or maintenance of large vessels is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering knowledge to assist in delivering Engineering and Waterfront support for platforms and marine systems.
• Provide and review technical responses to the production teams for Problem Identification Reports; develop instructions for technical tasks.
• Conduct maintenance and defect investigations/analysis; develop TM200s for urgent defect rectification.

About You

You’re a seasoned Engineer with a background in Electrical Engineering and are ready to utilise your technical expertise to support our operation and maintenance of vessels and supporting systems. If you have a trade qualification in an Engineering environment, you’re also encouraged to apply!

Your curiosity gives you the ability to analyse requests for variances to determine whether proposed changes have merit.

With well-developed written and verbal communication skills, and team player attributes, you will enjoy collaborating with your immediate and broader unit to achieve desired results.

About the Role

You will be play a pivotal role in our Platform / Marine systems team by applying your technical expertise and engineering knowledge to assist in delivering Engineering and Waterfront support.

You’ll provide and review Problem Identification Report technical responses to the production teams and undertake the analysis, design, development and preparation effort required for Technical Instructions. Importantly you’ll conduct maintenance and defect investigations and analysis; and develop TM200’s for Urgent Defect Rectification.

To be successful you will bring:

• Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Commonwealth Defence Security Clearance
• An accredited (under the Washington Accord) bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Previous experience in a similar role with design, operation or maintenance of complex / large vessels is desirable but not essential
