Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to deliver solar and BESS-focused HV infrastructure projects in Western Australia. Based on a FIFO 2:1 roster from Perth, you will operate within the project delivery team as the technical focal point during construction and commissioning, ensuring safety, quality and schedule alignment.

You’ll oversee electrical construction, contractor performance and energisation activities across substations, switchgear and solar/BESS integration.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Around 5+ years of experience within construction, major projects or EPC environments.
• Strong exposure to HV substations, power distribution systems and electrical infrastructure delivery.
• Experience managing contractors during construction and commissioning phases.
• Practical understanding of commissioning, energisation and electrical handover processes.
• Experience in renewables, mining, transmission or industrial projects will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of HV electrical infrastructure from construction through to commissioning and handover.
• Provide oversight of electrical contractors, vendors and commissioning teams.
• Manage technical queries, site-based engineering issues and design changes.
• Monitor construction progress, quality outcomes and commissioning milestones.
• Review testing and commissioning documentation, including ITPs, procedures and test records.
• Support energisation planning, operational readiness and project handover activities.
• Work across substations, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, HV/LV cabling, solar infrastructure and BESS.
