Job summary
Zinfra invites applications for an Apprentice Gas Technician in Canberra. The program offers a Certificate III in Gas Supply Industry Operations over three years, combining field work at the Hume depot with training blocks in Western Sydney.
You’ll rotate across ACT sites, gaining diverse gas network experience and professional development. Successful candidates will travel to Greystanes for scheduled blocks and earn a nationally recognised qualification while contributing to Australia’s energy
Qualifications
- Desire to work outdoors with a strong safety focus.
- Teamwork and positive attitude are essential.
- Willingness to learn and perform practical field tasks.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintenance of high, medium and low pressure natural gas networks.
- Patrol and maintenance of pipeline rights of way.
- Strategic response to leak reports and emergencies.
- Repair and maintenance of pipeline coatings, valves and mechanical equipment.
- Liaison with landholders and public authorities.
- Promote and drive a safety culture.
- A range of duties including mechanical tasks, weed control, erosion control, documentation and records maintenance.
