Job description

Job Category: Feedlot

Bindaree Food Group is one of Australia's leading meat businesses. We're vertically integrated, which means we're involved at every step of the supply chain, from paddock to plate, supplying quality beef to customers here at home and around the world.

Myola Feedlot sits at Croppa Creek in northern NSW, in the heart of some of the country's best farming land. It's where a big part of our story starts, and it's where yours could too.

Our 12-month Feedlot Graduate Program puts you right in the middle of a working feedlot from day one. No sitting on the sidelines, no endless photocopying. Just real work, real responsibility and real people backing you all the way.

Job Description

Your 12 months with us

You'll work alongside industry-leading professionals, mentors and fellow grads, building hands-on skills across nutrition, animal welfare, business management and leadership. Over the year you will:

  • Learn cattle nutrition from the experts with specialised training from our accredited consulting nutritionists.
  • Get up close with animal health through our onsite veterinary practices and see feedlot health management in action.
  • Tap into the national industry with access to peak body subscriptions, feedlot-specific skills training and career resources.
  • Follow the cattle from the start by getting involved in how we source and procure feedlot cattle.
  • Understand the bigger picture across environmental compliance, quality assurance and the systems that keep a feedlot running.
  • Build your leadership skills by learning how great teams work, how culture is built and how to lead people well.
  • Make safety second nature by living and championing strong Work Health and Safety practices every day.

At the end of the program you'll have a full year of practical feedlot experience, a network of mentors and industry contacts, and a clear understanding of how a modern, integrated beef business works. Many doors open from here, whether that's a longer-term career with Bindaree Food Group or a next step in the wider agriculture and food industry.

Desired Skills and Experience

Is this you?

You don't need feedlot experience. You do need curiosity, energy and a genuine interest in agriculture. We're looking for someone who has:

  • A recent tertiary qualification in Animal Science, Agricultural Science or Agribusiness Management
  • A real passion for agriculture and where our food comes from
  • Strong communication skills and the makings of a great leader
  • A positive, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude when things get challenging
  • Full working rights in Australia (this is essential)
