Anglicare Victoria is recruiting for the Pathways to Change program, an 8-week online group for individuals who have used violence. Sessions run online and from a Box Hill office, with flexible hybrid arrangements and intake set ups for court referrals.
The role supports multiple streams, involves 90-minute online group sessions with up to 10 participants, and requires experience in trauma-informed practice and risk assessment. Strong teamwork and tech proficiency are essential.
Pathways to Change (PTC) is an innovative 8-week online group program designed for individuals who have used violence in their intimate and familial relationships.
The program focuses on promoting accountability, fostering empathy, and equipping participants with practical tools to build healthier, non-violent relationships.
While the approach does not excuse the individual's behaviour, it remains non-judgmental, with a strong emphasis on maximising engagement.
The goal is to address key risk factors, reduce immediate risks and improve compliance. The intended outcome is to motivate participants to take the first steps toward sustained behaviour change, fostering accountability and connecting them to ongoing support services.
Through a combination of interactive group sessions, guided self-reflection, and skills-based learning, participants will explore the underlying causes of their behaviour, understand its impact, and work towards sustainable change.
Working across 3 specialist streams including Easy English, Young Fathers and LGBTQIA+ groups.
Referrals from court. Set up intake and assessment sessions (4-5 per week) and then provide group counselling for up to 10 participants online, 90 minute sessions (4-5 per week).
Working hours are 11am-7:30pm. Flexible days and hours available from 0.6 to full time. No counselling sessions will be run on Friday’s. You can work from home but we also have an office in Box Hill if that works better for you.
Each group is facilitated by two experienced professionals, trained in behaviour change, family violence intervention, and trauma-informed practices.
Working directly with PUVs is vital to ending gendered violence as it provides the men with an opportunity to access services to reflect on how their choice to use violence impacts the safety and well-being of the victim survivor and children and give them the tools and strategies to change their behaviour.
Please note that you MUST have a stable, reliable internet connection and a private office space to safely run these groups from home.
Please Note: It is mandatory for the successful applicant to hold a current Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement.
