Job summary

Offshore Staff Assist is seeking dedicated individuals to aid Social Workers and Welfare Workers by providing essential services and support to families in Victoria. The role involves assessing clients’ needs and developing, planning, and implementing educational, training, and support programs.

The position requires an AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma, or an equivalent combination of experience, with at least three years of relevant experience or on‑the‑job training.

Qualifications

• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma is required.
• English language requirement: IELTS 5.0 overall with 4.5 in each component or equivalent exemptions.
• Additional relevant experience or on‑the‑job training may substitute formal qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients' needs and develop, plan, and implement educational, training and support programs.
• Conduct interviews with clients to understand challenges.
• Monitor and report on client progress.
• Refer clients to other agencies for additional assistance.
• Evaluate community needs and available resources across health, welfare, housing, employment, training, and services.
• Liaise with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies and private businesses to discuss issues and promote resources.
• Provide support to families, and care for children and disabled individuals in various settings.
• Supervise offenders on probation and parole.
• Assist young people with social, emotional, and financial issues.
• Prepare funding submissions and reports to government bodies and agencies.
