Job summary

Kanda is seeking a dedicated practitioner to support children, young people and families in Queensland. You will walk alongside families through challenging times, delivering high-quality, family-centred practice with the time and resources to build meaningful relationships.

You'll travel locally, engage with community partners and schools, and contribute to safer, more stable futures for children while benefiting from supervision and ongoing professional development provided by Kanda.

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV, Diploma or Bachelor in Community Services, Youth Work or Social Work.
  • Strong ability to engage with families using a respectful, strengths-based approach.
  • Current Driver's licence and willingness to travel locally.
  • Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • First Aid and CPR (current or willing to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Help children, young people and families build confidence, skills and routines.
  • Build trusted relationships to empower families.
  • Work with Child Safety, schools and community partners to deliver coordinated support.
  • Connect families with practical supports and services.

  • Make a genuine difference every day through thoughtful, evidence-informed practice that creates meaningful outcomes.
You're the right person if...
  • Genuine commitment to supporting children, young people, and families
  • Strong ability to engage with people using a respectful, strengths-based approach
  • Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel locally
  • Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • First Aid and CPR (current or willing to obtain)
  • Certificate IV, Diploma, or Bachelor qualification (completed or in progress) in Community Services, Youth Work, Social Work, or a related field
