Job summary

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is seeking a Faculty Administrator for Tasmania, based in Hobart. This full-time fixed-term role supports the Faculty with reception, administration, events and office operations, reporting to the State Manager and engagement leads.

You will handle member inquiries, coordinate meetings and travel, and assist with events and records management to strengthen RACGP’s connection with GPs across Tasmania. Fixed term until 1 July 2027.

Qualifications

  • Experience in administration or reception with a strong focus on organisation and customer service.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder relationships.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and digital systems, with a willingness to learn new tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional reception and administrative support, responding to member enquiries and managing the Tasmania Faculty inbox and office operations.
  • Coordinate meetings, calendars, travel, records and committee documentation for the State Manager, Faculty Council and working groups.
  • Support faculty advocacy, educational, member engagement and other events, including occasional evening and weekend activities.
  • Maintain effective office systems, records and financial processes to support the smooth delivery of RACGP Tasmania’s activities and member services.

About the opportunity

As Faculty Administrator, you’ll provide high-quality administrative and reception support to RACGP Faculty in Tasmania, working closely with the State Manager, Member Engagement Team Lead and Member Engagement Coordinator, Faculty Council and local teams. Based in Hobart and reporting to the Member Engagement Team Lead, you’ll support members, events, office operations and faculty activities that strengthen RACGP’s connection with GPs across Tasmania.

As our Faculty Administrator, you’ll also:
  • Provide professional reception and administrative support, responding to member enquiries and managing the Tasmania Faculty inbox and office operations.
  • Coordinate meetings, calendars, travel, records and committee documentation for the State Manager, Faculty Council and working groups.
  • Support faculty advocacy, educational, member engagement and other events, including occasional evening and weekend activities.

Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in administration or reception, with a strong focus on organisation, attention to detail and customer service.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft professional correspondence and build positive stakeholder relationships.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and digital systems, with a willingness to learn new systems, processes and tools as required.
