Job summary

Fitness and Lifestyle Group is Australia’s leading fitness and wellness group, overseeing brands like Fitness First Australia, Barry's Bootcamp, Goodlife Health Clubs Australia, Jetts and Zap. We are seeking a full-time Facilities / Maintenance Technician to service multiple clubs, ensuring facilities and equipment stay safe and functional for members and staff.

You will engage with club managers, schedule maintenance, and coordinate with external contractors as part of a fast-paced team focused

Qualifications

• Experience as a Facilities / Maintenance Technician.
• Experience using a maintenance log system such as ServiceNow or Jira.
• Australian driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned & reactive mechanical repairs and troubleshoot gym equipment.
• Ensure all logged maintenance jobs are followed up and completed.
• Equipment removal and re-installation.
• Document and maintain maintenance records and hazard identification, reporting incidents or near misses.
• Provide essential service audits and work with suppliers on warranties and ordering spare parts

The Opportunity

Fitness & Lifestyle Group has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities / Maintenance Technician to join the team on a full-time basis.

In this role you'll step into the team and play an integral role in servicing iconic fitness clubs including Goodlife Health Clubs, Fitness First, Zap Fitness and Barrys to ensure the facilities and equipment are maintained to a high standard, providing both a safe and functional environment for both our members and team .

In this Facilities Technician position, you will have the chance to build strong working relationships and rapport with our club managers as their first contact for all maintenance activities.

This is a fast-paced environment where no two days will be the same. One day you will attend clubs to complete logged maintenance jobs assigned on a priority basis. On another day you could be fixing a piece of gym equipment in the morning and patching a wall or changing a light fixture at another club that afternoon.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Perform planned & reactive mechanical repairs and provide troubleshooting to gym equipment following club visit schedules to agreed service levels

• Ensure all logged maintenance jobs are followed up and completed in a timely manner

• Equipment removal and re-installation

• Document and maintain maintenance records and hazard identification, reporting any incidents or near misses through WHS systems.

• Provide essential service audits, and work with suppliers with warranties and ordering spare parts
  

To be successful in this role you will:

• Be a self-starter and thrive in a fast-paced, physically demanding role

• Have effective communication skills both written and verbal and natural ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders

• Have strong organisational and prioritisation skills and be comfortable working autonomously

• Be confident managing and coordinating external contractors

• Have a passion for the fitness industry and a willingness to learn
  

Skills/experience

Essential

• Experience as a Facilities / Maintenance Technician

• Experience maintaining and working from a maintenance log system such as Service now or Jira

• Australian driver's license and clean driving record
  

Desirable

• Experience repairing gym equipment
