Job summary

Facilities Officer role within Emmaus College maintenance team at Catholic Education Diocese of Rockhampton in North Rockhampton. Immediate start for a full-time continuing position focusing on grounds maintenance and school environments.

Typical duties include mowing, irrigation maintenance, garden care, minor building repairs, and setup for school events. Strong time-management and interpersonal skills are essential; Blue Card and MR license required.

Qualifications

• Excellent time management skills and well developed interpersonal skills.
• Mandatory Blue Card under WWC Act and suitability notice is required.
• Must hold or be eligible for MR class drivers license.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role.
• Read, understand and accept the Statement of Principles for employment in Catholic Schools.

Responsibilities

• Mowing, trimming and fertilising lawns and turf areas.
• Repairing and maintaining irrigation systems.
• Weeding, planting and fertilising gardens.
• Checking and adjusting security lighting.
• Carrying out minor building maintenance as directed.
• Assisting with tagging and minor repairs to school property and equipment.
• Assisting with marking sporting fields and grounds.
• Setting up and dismantling tents and equipment for school functions.
• Assessing equipment to determine if minor repairs are required.
