What's the role?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Manager to join a dynamic team responsible for efficiently and effectively managing facilities services at News’ corporate head office in Surry Hills.

In this role, you will ensure the physical environment is maintained to the highest standards by overseeing day-to-day building operations, managing proactive maintenance programs, and ensuring full regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Maintenance & Operations: Oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of building systems, including preventative maintenance programs, and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance: Partner with safety and security teams to maintain regulatory compliance, manage risk assurance, and ensure a safe, secure working environment.
  • Budgeting & Financial Management: Assist in managing the facilities budget, oversee local vendor contracts, and drive site-based cost-saving and sustainability initiatives.
  • Sustainability & Energy Efficiency: Collaborate with sustainability teams on energy efficiency, waste management, and environmental reporting.
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Manage external vendors and drive contractor performance to guarantee safe operational execution and high service standards.
  • Stakeholder Management: Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture across all building operations
  • Elevate workplace/customer experience: Deliver a high quality workplace experience for employees, visitors and senior executives
Who are you?
  • 5+ years of experience in a Facilities Manager role.
  • Proven track record of managing hard and soft services in an owned corporate facility.
  • Understanding of building systems, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Commitment to sustainability and driving environmental initiatives.
