About the role: This role will be working for our Mars Food Nutrition segment, where we bring people together through flavour.

As our Facilities Manager, you will hold end-to-end accountability for hard and soft facilities management services across the site. You will oversee critical utility systems, lead key contractor partnerships, ensure regulatory compliance, and support our ambitious environmental and sustainability goals

What you’ll do:

  • Site Infrastructure & Maintenance: Lead preventative and reactive maintenance across site facilities—including and not limited to building and office structures, surfaces, lawns and gardens, signage, pressure vessels, HVAC, and chiller systems.
  • Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Oversee site safety systems, fire protection services, Test & Tag, RCD testing, town water supply, RPZ backflow compliance, and council environmental reporting.
  • Asset & Equipment Management: Manage site vehicles, pallet racking inspections, cranes, and material handling equipment (forklifts, EWPs, scissor lifts).
  • Vendor & Contract Leadership: Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for our integrated facilities partner (Sodexo) and lead the IMF Facilities Management Contract, including performance management, SLAs, and annual site service renewals.
  • Environmental & Waste Programs: Direct site waste management programs and environmental compliance initiatives to progress toward Mars’ net-zero and zero-waste-to-landfill sustainability commitments.
  • Maintenance Planning & Systems: Leverage SAP PM to track, schedule, and execute work orders, contractor permits, and asset lifecycle plans.

Your unique ingredients:

  • Proven track record in facilities management, building services, or plant maintenance—preferably within food manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial operating environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing outsourced service providers (e.g., Sodexo or major IFM partners) with a focus on service delivery, safety standards, and commercial value.
  • Hands-on experience with Computerised Maintenance.
  • Management Systems (CMMS), with a strong preference for SAP PM.
  • Solid understanding of Australian Standards, WHS legislation, council environmental reporting, and building code compliance (fire services, electrical safety, trade waste, water backflow).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams, influence contractors, and partner effectively with cross-functional site teams.

Why you’ll love working for Mars:

  • Purpose: Help craft beloved brands with a legacy of over 100 years of local manufacturing making products that people and pets will love all while helping to build a more sustainable future.
  • People: A culture that values your contributions, fosters leadership, and recognises the impact you make. Your work truly matters here.
  • Development: Shape your career with personalised development and real opportunities to grow from day one.
  • Enjoy a team and business environment that is invested in helping you manage and grow your energy for work and life.
  • Stay active and energised with an onsite gym and walking track.
  • Excellent health and wellbeing programs include fitness passport, yearly flu vaccinations, skin checks and more.
  • Onsite canteen
  • Convenient onsite parking for a hassle-free commute.
