Job summary

Itara Jacana Serviced Apartments in Riverway, Townsville, is seeking a practical maintenance professional to support 120 apartments and grounds. You will troubleshoot issues across guest rooms and common areas, perform minor repairs, gardening and general upkeep, and coordinate with qualified trades when needed.

You should be reliable, organized and able to prioritise urgent guest issues, with a current driver’s licence.

Qualifications

Has previous experience in property, hotel or resort maintenance or a similar hands-on role.
Confident troubleshooting of appliances, air-conditioning and plumbing issues.
Able to work methodically to identify root causes and perform minor repairs.
Good gardening and grounds-maintenance skills.
Reliable, organized and capable of prioritising urgent guest issues.

Responsibilities

Respond to guest and management maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
Troubleshoot appliances (fridges, washing machines, dishwashers, ovens, TVs) and air-conditioning.
Address minor plumbing issues (drains, taps) and carry out basic repairs.
Perform basic painting, fixtures, doors and furniture repairs where appropriate.
Maintain gardens, pathways and outdoor areas; assist rubbish collection prep.
Record maintenance issues and coordinate with trades for specialist work.
