Job summary

SJB Stainless Steel Pty Ltd in Thomastown, VIC is seeking an experienced Stainless Steel Fabricator to join our team. This full-time, permanent role offers opportunities to contribute to the production and fabrication of high-quality stainless steel products.

You will read and interpret technical drawings, operate TIG welding and related equipment, and perform quality checks to ensure specifications are met. A strong focus on safety and teamwork is essential to succeed in this position.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as a stainless steel fabricator or similar role.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Skilled with metalworking tools including welding machines, grinders and benders.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team; good problem-solving skills and safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to guide fabrication.
• Operate welding machines, brake press, grinders and cutting tools to assemble stainless steel components.
• Carry out quality control checks to ensure products meet standards and customer requirements.

We are seeking an experienced Fabricator Stainless Steel to join our team at SJB Stainless Steel Pty Ltd in Thomastown, VIC. This is a full-time, permanent position offering excellent opportunities for a skilled professional to contribute to the production and fabrication of high-quality stainless steel products.

What you'll be doing

• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to guide the fabrication process


• Operate a variety of metalworking machinery and equipment such as tig welding, brake press operating , grinders, and precision cutting, forming, and welding operations to assemble stainless steel components and products


• Carry out quality control checks to ensure products meet specified standards and customer requirements


• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and output


• Maintain a safe and organised work environment, following all health and safety protocols

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Stainless Steel Fabricator or similar role in the trades and services industry


• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics


• Skilled in operating a range of metalworking tools and equipment, including welding machines, grinders, and benders


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work


• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team


• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
