Job summary

Travel + Leisure Co. operates Beaches Restaurant and seeks a Food & Beverage Supervisor / Food & Beverage Events Coordinator in Hobart. You will supervise service, coordinate events, and lead a team to deliver exceptional guest experiences at our resort venue.

The role requires supervisory experience in resort/hotel settings, RSA certification, OH&S knowledge, and a passion for food and beverage. A flexible schedule including nights and weekends is expected.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (Include but not limited to:)

· Provide effective, efficient and professional Food and Beverage service.

· Ensure a smooth running Food and Beverage service, providing hand-in-hand teamwork with adequate employees including food and beverage preparation and serving.

· Ensure all equipment is well maintained and stored appropriately and advise any faults to Manager.

· Regularly review operating systems to ensure optimal efficiencies are achieved.

· Maintain all stock levels daily, including ordering and rotating. Report any discrepancies to manager.

· Ensure that all necessary food prep and required items are adequately available each day.

· Ensure Food Safety guidelines are followed at all times, ensuring all food temperatures are correct, and food prep is labeled with date prepared.

· Maintain the highest level of customer service to ensure all needs for the owners and guests are met

· Ensure all communication of necessary points is carried out clearly and concisely

· Liaise with your supervisor/manager regarding any problems or complaints that arise

· Be punctual when arriving at work and returning from meal breaks

· Maintain exemplary grooming including fresh, ironed uniforms, wear name badge and ensure that personal hygiene standards are maintained at all times

· Employees must ensure they comply with Travel + Leisure’s OH&S Policy, procedures and any reasonable instruction given by Travel + Leisure.

· Employees must not wilfully place at risk the health and safety of themselves or any other persons in the workplace and to not wilfully or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided for health and safety.

· Display innovation through inspiring, creating and improving processes and products.

· Show integrity in all aspects of the position by doing the right thing, taking responsibility and delivering on the promise.

· Coordinate events - including upselling, floorplans, complete BEOs & financials.

· Be the point of contact for clients leading up to & on their event days.

· Manage event setup and breakdown, ensuring all details are executed flawlessly.

· Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless event execution.

· Oversee operations of Beaches Restaurant, ensuring exceptional service.

· Managing and training staff to maintain high standards.

· Handling operational duties including opening and closing procedures.

· Assist with roster planning, ordering & social media content.

· Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

KEY POSITION CRITERIA:

• Previous experience in a similar role within a Resort or Hotel environment at a supervisory level.
• Hold a valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) qualification
• Knowledge and understanding of OH&S and chemical handing.
• Excellent communication skills, with a strong focus on guest satisfaction.
• A passion for everything food and beverage and sound knowledge to back that up.

• A hands-on leader, who leads by example, builds in a strong team culture and set the scene for high performance.
• A positive and proactive approach with the ability to work under pressure & problem solve
• Excellent grooming standards, professionalism, and reliability.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, public and school holidays.
