About Us:

Established in 2001, Guidera O'Connor is a privately owned and respected Design and Construct contractor with a successful track record delivering Water and Wastewater treatment projects to the Australian Water Industry. Our clients include SA Water, Water Corporation, Sydney Water, and SEQ Water.

About the Role:

We are opening an Expression of Interest for an Undergraduate or Graduate Mechanical Engineer who is looking for either an Internship or Graduate Engineer role in the Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Industry.

Our Engineering Cohort is responsible for carrying out end-to-end process design activities for a range of specialised complex water projects, ensuring that all design, drafting, and close-out documentation is completed accurately, cost-effectively, and in a timely manner. As an Undergraduate Mechanical Engineer, you will learn and build your competency in all these areas. As a Graduate Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers and other team members on various projects, contributing to the design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions to real-world water projects. This position offers a hands-on learning environment where you will apply theoretical knowledge acquired in your academic studies to support the development of solutions in line with Engineers Australia Competency Framework.

More specifically, you will:

  • Assist the Engineering Manager to deliver projects in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
  • Ensure that work is completed in accordance with project specification requirements.
  • Carry out design activities for projects as required.
  • Complete project-related activities within time schedules.
  • Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of project documentation.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with staff, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

As our ideal candidate, you will:

  • Be undertaking a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Be organised, decisive, proactive, and determined in setting and achieving targets.
  • Be able to build strong and collaborative relationships.
  • Have intermediate skills in Microsoft Office including SharePoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
