Job summary

Programmed in Port Melbourne is seeking a skilled Fitter to join our Port Melbourne team. This hands-on role requires strong mechanical expertise in heavy manufacturing environments.

You will troubleshoot and perform breakdown maintenance on mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, carry out bearing fitting, V-belt maintenance, laser alignment, and mechanical rebuilds. You will also maintain pumps, pneumatics and hydraulics, ensuring safe and efficient operation.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification: Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in heavy manufacturing, FMCG, petrochemical, power & energy generation, or mining industries.
• Exposure to plasterboard manufacturing will be highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, with confidence in troubleshooting and repairs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
