Job summary

Professional Traffic Solutions in Tuggerah NSW is seeking experienced Traffic Controllers and TMA Drivers to join our family-owned team. You will operate on high-speed networks including the M1, setting up and packing down traffic control sites and ensuring safe, efficient traffic flow.

Candidates should hold a Traffic Controller Card, White Card, and M1 Induction, with TMA Certification preferred for drivers. We offer a supportive environment with opportunities to grow within a growing company.

Qualifications

• Traffic Controller Card and related certifications are required.
• White Card (General Construction Induction) required.
• M1 Induction Card or 300+ hours traffic control experience preferred.
• TfNSW Workers on Foot Certificate required.
• TMA certificate required for TMA drivers.
• Must pass a drug and alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

• Direct and control vehicle, pedestrian, and machinery flow to ensure safety and minimize disruption at work zones.
• Install, maintain and remove traffic signs, cones and safety equipment per traffic management plans.
• Ensure site safety for workers, motorists and pedestrians; stay alert for hazards and mitigate risks.
• Use signals, radios, and other tools to communicate with team members, drivers, and the public.
• Ensure all traffic control operations comply with regulations and safety standards.
• Adapt to various shifts, including nights and weekends when required.

We specialise in providing safe and reliable traffic management services for roadwork projects across the Hunter and Central Coast regions. We are currently seeking experienced Traffic Controllers and TMA Drivers with proven capability on the M1 and other high-speed networks to join our team. We value people who are safety-driven, adaptable, and take pride in doing the job properly.

About the Role

This role is for experienced traffic controllers who are confident working on high-speed and motorway environments. You’ll be responsible for setting up, monitoring and packing down traffic control sites, communicating clearly with your crew and keeping everyone safe. Experience operating VMS boards (truck-mounted) and towing/setting light towers is highly regarded, as is the ability to stay organised and work safely under pressure.

Shifts are well-planned, crews are organised, and we support you to do the job properly. You’ll be working with people who take pride in their work, look out for each other, and maintain a professional standard on every site.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and remove traffic signs, cones and other safety equipment as per traffic management plans
• Ensure the safety of workers, motorists, and pedestrians in and around the site. Stay alert for potential hazards and take proactive measures to mitigate risks.
• Use signals, hand gestures, two-way radios, and other tools to communicate with team members, drivers, and the public.
• Ensure all traffic control operations comply with regulations and safety standards.
• Adapt to various work schedules, including night shifts and weekends when necessary.

Skills and Experience

• A Traffic Controller Card
• An Implement Traffic Control Plans Card
• A Prepare Work Zone Traffic Management Plan Card (preferred but not mandatory).
• A valid White Card (General Construction Induction)
• A valid M1 Induction Card (or 300+ hours traffic control experience)
• A TfNSW Workers on Foot Certificate
• An Operate a Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) Certificate/Card (for TMA drivers only)
• The ability to work in a drug- and alcohol-free environment, including passing random screening.
