MW Recruitment is seeking a Senior Accountant for a Rockhampton-based public practice, focusing on Business Services and Tax. The role has no staff management and offers the option to work remotely from regional Queensland, with some in-office days available.

You will handle a varied client portfolio and engage in technical tax and accounting work. The ideal candidate is CA/CPA qualified (or progressing) with 7+ years in Australian public practice, and proficient with Xero or MYOB.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified with CA or CPA completed or progressing.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in an Australian public practice firm.
• Strong technical knowledge across entity types.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload.
• Experience with Xero, MYOB or similar practice software.
• Based in Rockhampton or regional Queensland.
• 2 days WFH and flexible hours.
• No staff management, just focus on the work.
• Choose your level of client contact.

Responsibilities

• Preparing financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships.
• Managing a varied portfolio of business services and tax compliance work.
• Preparing BAS, IAS and FBT returns.
• Assisting with tax planning and advisory work.
• Liaising with clients and the ATO where required (optional, depending on your preference).
• Working closely with the Partners on more complex matters.

Pure technical role with no staff management, flexible client contact and the option to work remotely from anywhere in regional Queensland.

About The Role

This well established public practice firm based in Rockhampton, seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their Business Services and Tax team. This role is focused purely on the work itself, with no staff management responsibilities. Client contact is available if you enjoy it, or you can focus solely on the technical side if you prefer. The role is based in Rockhampton, however full remote work will be considered for the right candidate living in regional Queensland.
