About the Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic experienced Ecologist to join our team in our Wollongong office. This is an exciting opportunity for a consultant who enjoys a mix of fieldwork, technical reporting, and project delivery, while building strong connections with clients and colleagues.

In this role, you will scope, manage, and undertake ecological surveys and assessments, prepare proposals and reports, and contribute to the successful delivery of a wide range of projects. We encourage innovative thinking and support new approaches to project delivery and problem-solving.

Responsibilities
  • Work on diverse and exciting projects across NSW, delivering high-quality ecological assessments and practical environmental solutions for clients
  • Undertake ecological field surveys and assessments in a variety of landscapes and conditions
  • Prepare high-quality proposals, reports, and management plans
  • Contribute to project management, client liaison, and team collaboration
  • Access ongoing learning and development opportunities within our Ecology Discipline
About You
  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science/Ecology or related discipline
  • 4+ years’ ecological experience (preferably in NSW)
  • Working knowledge of NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation
  • Strong fauna and/or flora species knowledge and identification skills
  • Experience planning and undertaking ecological fieldwork
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in report writing (e.g. monitoring, assessment, management plans)
  • Project management skills and experience
  • Current driver’s licence
It Is Also Desirable That You Have
  • Ecological consulting experience
  • BAM assessor accreditation or ability to obtain
