Job summary

SMEC is seeking a Civil Designer/Drafter to join our Newcastle or Sydney teams, delivering high-quality design drawings for major infrastructure projects across NSW and ANZ. You will contribute to digital delivery and work within a flexible environment with opportunities to grow your career.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in civil design, proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and 12d, and a solid understanding of Australian standards and local regulations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional design experience, typically in civil engineering.
• Waste industry experience is advantageous.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and 12d software.
• Experience with Common Data Environments and digital delivery.
• Understanding of Australian Standards and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide top-class design drawings to clients for major projects.
• Contribute to NSW and ANZ project delivery from Newcastle or Sydney teams.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive digital design solutions.

The role

Following our continued growth and success winning and positioning ourselves to deliver current and future infrastructure projects across Australia, we are seeking a talented Civil Designer/Drafter to join our Newcastle or Sydney teams and assist on major projects in NSW and across ANZ. You will play a key role in providing top class design drawings to our clients.

With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Suitable applicants will have:
