Job summary

SMEC is seeking a skilled Civil Designer/Drafter to join our Newcastle or Sydney teams, delivering high-quality design drawings for major infrastructure projects across NSW and ANZ. You will collaborate with engineers and clients to ensure compliant, efficient designs and contribute to digital delivery strategies.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years’ design experience, with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and 12d proficiency, plus familiarity with Australian Standards.

Qualifications

7+ years professional design experience in civil engineering.
Waste industry experience is an advantage.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and 12d software.
Experience with Common Data Environments and digital delivery.
Understanding of Australian Standards and local regulations.
Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Civil Drafting required.

Responsibilities

Provide top class design drawings to clients for major projects.
Support Newcastle or Sydney teams on current and future projects across NSW.
Build trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

You will play a key role in providing top class design drawings to our clients. With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Job requirements and responsibilities

Suitable applicants will have:
