Job summary

High-Classified Federal Government Agency in Canberra, ACT is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join the Product Delivery Directorate on a Canberra-based, onsite basis.

You will analyse business needs, processes and requirements to identify improvements for systems and ways of working, collaborating with business users, Project Managers, System Architects and Development teams to deliver new products and systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst on complex programs.
• Experience in requirements gathering, analysis and documentation.
• Experience analysing business processes and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience in Agile and/or traditional project environments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with limited direction.
• Experience in Federal Government, Defence or highly regulated environments (highly regarded).

Responsibilities

• Investigate and analyse business processes, functions, systems, information and data.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand their needs, challenges and objectives.
• Identify business problems, opportunities and areas for improvement.
• Conduct root cause analysis and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Gather, analyse and document business and system requirements.
• Develop clear requirements, specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Work closely with Project Managers, System Architects, Developers and other technical teams.
• Ensure requirements are clearly understood and aligned with business and customer needs.
• Support the identification of opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs and deliver business benefits.
• Facilitate discussions and workshops with stakeholders to gather and validate requirements.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across different levels of the organisation.
• Adapt Business Analysis approaches depending on the project, using Agile, iterative or traditional methods where appropriate.
• Contribute to improving Business Analysis processes, standards and practices across the organisation.
