Job summary

AndersElite Professional Recruitment Pty Ltd is seeking a Chief Mine Geologist (Expat) for an open pit and heap-leach gold operation based in Australia. The role reports to the CEO in Australia with a Resident Manager onsite, leading a geoscience team and interfacing with engineering and operations.

Requirements include a geology degree with 10+ years in mining geology, membership with geoscience bodies, and strong modelling/plan­ning software skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geology, Geoscience or related discipline; postgrad in economic/mining geology or geotechnical engineering desirable.
• Gold or Copper mining background preferred.
• Membership with geoscientific bodies (AIG, AusIMM or equivalents) encouraged.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in mining geology in operational environments.
• Experience leading and mentoring geoscientific teams.
• Proficiency in geological modelling software and Deswick; strong mine planning knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement geological strategies and technical frameworks for mining operations, exploration, and resource management.
• Provide expert interpretation to guide mining decisions, supporting resource estimation and reserve reporting.
• Lead geoscientific team, set technical standards and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Oversee geological modelling, mine planning integration, and geotechnical analysis.
• Prepare detailed geological reports and recommendations for senior management.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to integrate geology into planning and decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with mining regulations and environmental standards.
