Job summary

The Neuro Practice in Bendigo, Victoria is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to join our multidisciplinary team on a part-time basis (up to 3 days per week). New Graduates welcome to apply. Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology recognised in Australia.
• Current registration or eligibility for registration with ESSA.
• Experience or genuine interest in neurological populations (stroke, Parkinson’s, MS, spinal cord injury).
• Excellent assessment, clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and motivate clients.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients with neurological conditions to identify functional limitations and rehabilitation potential.
• Design and implement individualized exercise programs based on evidence-based practice and neurological presentations.
• Provide direct clinical intervention including exercise instruction and functional training.
• Monitor and document client progress and adjust programmes as needed.
• Collaborate with physiotherapists, occupational therapists and medical staff for integrated care.
• Educate clients and carers on exercise prescription, pacing, and long-term maintenance.
• Maintain clinical documentation according to regulatory standards.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.

The Neuro Practice is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to join our multidisciplinary team in Bendigo, Victoria. This is a part-time position offering a meaningful opportunity to work with clients with neurological conditions and ongoing rehabilitation needs. As an Exercise Physiologist, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing evidence-based exercise programs tailored to support clients' neurological recovery and functional independence. Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients with neurological conditions to identify functional limitations, mobility challenges and rehabilitation potential
• Design and implement individualised exercise programs based on evidence-based practice and client-specific neurological presentations
• Provide direct clinical intervention including exercise instruction, movement re-education and functional training to support their journey
• Monitor and document client progress, adjusting exercise programs in response to functional improvements and changing client needs
• Collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, occupational therapists and medical professionals to ensure integrated and holistic client care
• Provide education to clients and carers regarding exercise prescription, activity pacing and strategies to support long-term functional maintenance
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practice standards
• Contribute to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice within the clinic

The Services offered

• 1:1 interventions in our clinic, in the clients' home and also relevant community-based settings. We are able to tailor our therapy to each individual persons needs.
• Intervention including hydrotherapy, supporting people participate in sporting activities, gymnasium programs and community integration.
• Attendant care training. Family support and education.
• Equipment and assistive technology recommendations and assistance with provision.

What we're looking for

• Tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology or related discipline recognised in Australia
• Current registration or eligibility for registration with ESSA (Exercise & Sports Science Australia) or relevant accrediting body
• Demonstrated experience or genuine interest in working with neurological populations, including conditions such as stroke, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis or spinal cord injury
• Excellent assessment, clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt interventions based on individual client presentations
• Proven ability or strong desire to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and motivate clients of varying abilities and backgrounds
• Professional approach to client care with strong commitment to person-centred practice
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain these
