Job summary

Queensland Government is establishing a new 32-bed Adult Inpatient Mental Health Service at Rockhampton Hospital. You will deliver high‑quality exercise physiology care across assessment, intervention and discharge planning for clients with complex mental health needs.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to create recovery-focused care plans, provide clinical education and supervision, and contribute to quality improvement and least restrictive care strategies.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology with ESSA accreditation or eligibility.
  • Deliver evidence-based assessment, intervention and rehabilitation for mental health presentations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exercise physiology care from assessment to discharge planning for acute mental health patients.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop recovery-oriented care plans.
  • Provide supervision and education to students and junior staff.

Provide clinical advice, education, supervision and support to students, support staff and less experienced practitioners, helping build skills and confidence across the team.Make an impact.Champion consumer rights, trauma-informed and least restrictive care, use evidence to guide your practice and contribute to quality improvement and the future of inpatient mental health care.About you:You've got a tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology or Human Movement Studies and are an accredited, or accreditation-eligible, member of ESSA.
