Job summary

Resthaven Community Services at the Marion Wellness Centre invites you to join their team as an Exercise Physiologist. This full-time ongoing position involves delivering exercise physiology services within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.

You will implement evidence-based interventions, tailor programs for clients with chronic disease, supervise Therapy Assistants and participate in education for clients and staff, while upholding ESSA standards and Resthaven policies.

Qualifications

• Full member of Exercise & Sport Science Australia (ESSA)
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence
• Knowledge of issues facing older people, their families and carers

Responsibilities

• Implement evidence-based interventions and tailor exercise programs for clients with chronic disease
• Design, deliver and evaluate safe exercise interventions for acute to chronic conditions
• Practise within ESSA standards and Resthaven policies
• Balance competing priorities of individuals within available resources
• Maintain professional documentation confidentially and in line with Resthaven standards
• Supervise and instruct Therapy Assistants
• Contribute to education programs for clients and staff

Job description

The Resthaven Community Services team at the new Marion Wellness Centre invites you to join their team in as anExercise Physiologist. This position is offered on afull-time ongoing basis.

You will be effectively communicating with staff members, health professionals, clients, and family with regards to provision of Exercise Physiology services and workingas a professional member of a multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team and actively participating in team meetings and continuous improvement activity.

Role requirements:

• Implement evidence-based interventions and develop tailored individual exercise programs for clients with Chronic Disease
• Design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective exercise interventions for people with acute, sub-acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries, or disabilities.
• Practising within the standards and ethics of the Exercise Physiologist profession, as documented in the Standards & Compliance prepared by Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA)
• Balancing competing priorities of individuals’ expectations against resource levels
• Maintaining documentation in a professional and confidential manner and in accord with Resthaven standards
• Supervising and instructing Therapy Assistants
• Contributing to, and participating in, education programs for clients and staff of Resthaven

Essential Criteria:

• Full member of Exercise & Sport Science Australian (ESSA)
• Full Drivers Licence
• An understanding of issues facing older people, their families and carers, and a knowledgeof the range and type of services available for older people
