About the organisation

Wannon Water is a Victorian regional water corporation responsible for the delivery of water, sewerage and recycled water services that enhance the lives and well-being of our south-west Victorian communities. Headquartered in Warrnambool, the corporation serves a diverse regional community and operates under a strong regulatory framework, with accountability to customers, government and the environment. Wannon Water is committed to building a workforce that reflects the communities it serves and actively welcomes applications from candidates of diverse backgrounds, perspectives and career pathways. As a public sector entity, this organisation upholds the values of the Victorian Public Sector and takes its stewardship of essential public infrastructure seriously.

About the role

Reporting to the Managing Director and as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Executive Water & Sewerage Services provides enterprise leadership across organisational performance, workforce capability, an inclusive culture and long-term service resilience. This is a significant executive opportunity to shape the future delivery of essential public services, lead critical public health and environmental outcomes, and deliver meaningful outcomes for communities across south-west Victoria. The Executive holds enterprise accountability for the safe, reliable and sustainable delivery of water, sewerage and recycled water services across the region. This is a role of genuine consequence, one that shapes long‑term system capability, protects public health and environmental integrity, and ensures communities can depend on the services that underpin daily life. The Executive will provide strategic leadership across service delivery, water quality, environmental compliance, emergency management and operational resilience, while driving workforce capability, fostering a high-performing culture and contributing to whole-of-organisation investment planning and asset lifecycle decisions. Leading a team of Branch Managers and a substantial operational workforce, this role drives continuous improvement, safety, accountability and operational excellence, while ensuring strong governance, risk management and regulatory compliance. The Executive will also serve as a credible and trusted presence in regulatory, government and industry forums, building strong relationships with key stakeholders and representing Wannon Water with integrity and professionalism.

About you

You are a senior leader with significant experience in an operational, utility, infrastructure or regulated services environment. Your ability to lead complex service delivery functions, balancing day-to-day performance with long-term strategic thinking, sets you apart. You bring genuine capability in regulatory compliance, risk oversight and stakeholder engagement, and you are equally comfortable briefing a Board, engaging with a regulator, or working through a significant operational incident. You understand what it means to lead people through change, and you build high-performing teams through clear accountability, genuine development and a culture people want to be part of. You do not need to have followed a traditional water sector career path to be successful in this role. Leaders with transferable experience gained in water, wastewater, utilities, environmental services, manufacturing, infrastructure, local government, emergency management, public sector service delivery and other regulated industries are encouraged to apply. Flexible working arrangements, family-friendly, relocation support and executive development opportunities may be discussed with preferred candidates where appropriate.
