ACARA’s vision is to inspire improvement in the learning of all young Australians through world‑class curriculum, assessment and reporting.

We are an organisation with strong passion, pride and commitment to our work. Our work culture is highly collaborative and supportive. We are proud that we are genuinely contributing to Australia’s future, through the important role we play in students’ lives. A positive environment at ACARA has helped establish a strong working culture, in which employees feel inspired, listened to, and enabled.

ACARA is seeking a highly organised and capable Executive Services Officer to provide high‑level administrative, planning and coordination support to the Executive Services team. This role supports ACARA’s engagement with key national education governance bodies, the ACARA Board and senior stakeholders, while contributing to the effective delivery of executive reporting, strategic planning and corporate compliance activities.

Working collaboratively across the organisation, this position will assist in the preparation of ministerial, parliamentary and governance documentation, including support for Senate Estimates and Questions on Notice processes. The role also supports divisional administration and project activities, as well as the effective delivery of ACARA’s Corporate Plan, Business Plan and Annual Report, and contributes to the continuous improvement of administrative systems and organisational practices.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional with strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

About the position:
  • Coordinate and support engagement with the Executive Leadership Team, ACARA Board and key intergovernmental committees.
  • Assist with preparation for Senate Committee appearances, including Senate Estimates and related briefing materials.
  • Coordinate and track responses to Questions on Notice (QONs), ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Support preparation and reporting requirements for ACARA’s Corporate Plan, Business Plan and Annual Report.
  • Provide administrative and project support across the Communications, Engagement and Executive Services division.
To be successful, you will have:
  • Demonstrated experience in executive support, governance administration or a similar role, ideally within government or education sectors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, professionalism and sound judgement.
  • Strong collaborative and problem‑solving skills, with a customer‑focused approach and attention to detail.

This role is an ongoing position that will require some travel across Australia.

ACARA offers an attractive salary range, commencing at $97,661 base per annum (plus superannuation).

Applications will close at 11:59pm Sydney time on 10th June 2026.

ACARA embraces a diverse workforce culture and is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Employer that welcomes applications from First Nations Australians.

Any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory verification of your right to work in Australia and a police clearance check and may include a working with children check.
