Sydney Local Health District is seeking an Executive Research Manager to lead research support, ethics, and governance across its district. The role emphasizes strong leadership, strategic oversight, and collaboration with senior researchers and government partners.

The ideal candidate holds relevant tertiary qualifications in health management or similar, with experience in NSW/Australia’s research environment and governance requirements.

About the Role

The SLHD Executive Research Manager is responsible for all matters relating to the effective and efficient management of research support and development functions, research ethics and research governance within the SLHD. Ideal Candidate

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in business, health management or similar field or demonstrated, relevant equivalent professional experience and training.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the health and medical research environment in NSW and Australia.
• High level understanding of NSW and Australian human and animal research ethics and governance legislation, policy directives and guidelines.
• Proven experience in effective team management, leadership, and mentoring.
• Proven ability to work at a senior level with senior researchers, academic leaders and representatives of government and non-government agencies.
