Job summary

Sydney Local Health District is seeking an Executive Research Manager to oversee research support, development functions, ethics and governance across the district.

You will work with senior researchers and government and non-government partners to lead strategic research initiatives and ensure compliant, ethical practices within NSW and Australia.

Qualifications

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in business, health management or similar field or demonstrated, relevant equivalent professional experience and training.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the health and medical research environment in NSW and Australia.
• High level understanding of NSW and Australian human and animal research ethics and governance legislation, policy directives and guidelines.
• Proven experience in effective team management, leadership, and mentoring.

About the Role

The SLHD Executive Research Manager is responsible for all matters relating to the effective and efficient management of research support and development functions, research ethics and research governance within the SLHD.

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in business, health management or similar field or demonstrated, relevant equivalent professional experience and training.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the health and medical research environment in NSW and Australia.
• High level understanding of NSW and Australian human and animal research ethics and governance legislation, policy directives and guidelines.
• Proven experience in effective team management, leadership, and mentoring.

Proven ability to work at a senior level with senior researchers, academic leaders and representatives of government and non-government agencies.
