Job summary

Cumberland City Council is seeking an experienced Executive Manager Civil Infrastructure to lead Civil Projects and Maintenance, overseeing a team of 29 and ensuring high‑quality community outcomes in NSW. The role reports to the Director City Services and requires strong leadership, budgeting and strategic delivery.

The successful candidate will bring civil engineering or related qualifications, substantial capital works experience and a proven ability to manage complex maintenance programs

Qualifications

• Qualifications in engineering, PM and/or civil infrastructure with leadership experience.
• Experience in civil infrastructure capital works programs and projects.
• Proven experience managing maintenance programs and budgets.

With this unique offering and continued growth, Cumberland City Council is seeking an experienced professional to manage and oversee the key service areas of Civil Projects and Maintenance.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Executive Manager Civil Infrastructure will lead and manage a broad range of functions and be held accountable for the successful management and delivery of services across Civil Projects and Maintenance, while providing leadership and oversight to a team of 29 employees.

As an experienced community oriented and customer focused senior leader, you will bring:

• Relevant qualifications in engineering, project management and/or civil infrastructure related discipline with significant leadership skills and experience at a senior level.
• Significant experience working in the development and implementation of civil infrastructure capital work programs and projects.
• Significant experience in the effective management of significant and complex maintenance programs.
• Demonstrated experience in the planning and management of substantial budgets, with a view to ensuring robust forward planning and effective project delivery.
• Understanding of operating in high-quality service-based environment with a focus on ensuring valuable and quality outcomes for the community.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team of specialised and qualified staff to achieve a high-performance outcome.
• Computer literacy, particularly in the MS Office suite of products.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work productively as a member of a senior leadership team and actively contribute to the achievement of shared goals.
• Current Class C drivers' licence.
