Job summary

ACT Public Service is advertising an Executive Group Manager, Strategic Policy and Finance. The role leads strategic policy and finance initiatives, provides high-level government advice, and oversees ACTIA, investments, borrowings, and shared services finance.

The position reports to the Under Treasurer and works with other Executives across the ACT Public Service and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will have a strong policy and/or finance background with executive leadership

Qualifications

• Eligibility/Other Requirements: Appropriate tertiary qualifications, or experience in commerce, economics, public policy, accounting law or a related field combined with strong policy and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and high-level advice to the government on policy issues across the Treasury.
• Oversee ACT Insurance Authority (ACTIA), Investments and Borrowings Branch and Shared Services Finance.
• Report to the Under Treasurer and collaborate with other Executives in ACTPS and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to long-term government strategy and financial stewardship.
• Engage under the Closing the Gap principle for SES members as per legislation.
