Job summary

Bynoe Community Advancement Co-Operative Society Ltd (Bynoe) is seeking a decisive CEO to rebuild and strengthen a respected First Nations community organisation based in Normanton. The role requires stabilising operations, rebuilding trust, and establishing sustainable platforms for future growth.

The successful candidate will engage with the Board, lead practical change, ensure service continuity and travel regularly across the Lower Gulf as required. On-site leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Significant executive or senior management experience in a complex, multi‑service or asset‑based organisation.
• Demonstrated record of leading an organisational rebuild, turnaround or significant change.
• Experience working with a Board, governance reporting and risk management.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen with experience overseeing funded programs, reporting and acquittals.
• Ability to operate effectively in a remote or regional environment and travel regularly.

Responsibilities

• Lead a rebuild of the organisation, strengthening culture, systems, accountability and leadership.
• Stabilise operations, address priority risks and maintain continuity of services.
• Build capability and accountability of managers while delegating effectively.
• Develop governance reporting, reporting to the Board and clear decision boundaries.
• Identify sustainable funding, housing, partnerships and business opportunities.
