Randstad Professionals is partnering with Mercy Health to recruit a Director – First Nations Engagement & Care Programs for Melbourne. The role leads cultural change, elevates community voices and shapes a healthcare system where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples thrive.

Reporting to the CEO, you will embed First Nations perspectives into governance, drive self-determination, and oversee programs with strategic and operational impact.

Qualifications

• Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be recognized by your community.
• Deep knowledge of Aboriginal peoples, communities, and cultures.
• Proven track record driving cultural and operational change in complex environments (e.g., healthcare, public sector, human services).
• Broad understanding of public sector, health or community service operations, including service delivery frameworks and public funding models.
• Proven capability managing operational budgets, resource allocation and continuous quality improvement frameworks.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in public administration, organisational management, or equivalent executive industry experience.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the senior cultural authority and strategic advisor to executive leadership and the Board.
• Lead the operational, strategic and financial performance of First Nations Programs with site Executive Directors.
• Co-chair the Aboriginal Reference Committee to ensure community voices direct decision making and RAP/is Aboriginal employment and Cultural Safety Plan accountability.
• Build, sustain and honour respectful relationships with Traditional Owner groups and community stakeholders.
• Oversee culturally responsive operating plans ensuring evidence-based framework improvements.
