Job summary

The Cabinet Office NSW, based in Sydney, is seeking an Executive Director, Policy to lead the Energy, Environment and Primary Industries branch and guide policy development across key portfolios. You will provide impartial, data-informed advice to senior leaders and manage Cabinet processes for the portfolio.

You will shape legislation, programs and machinery of government while coordinating with the Premier, Ministers and senior executives to balance priorities and stakeholder interests.

Qualifications

• Executive leader with a strong record in public policy development and reform.
• Ability to provide balanced, evidence-based advice on complex issues.
• Capacity to work with the Premier’s Office and ministerial offices with credibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead policy branch direction, research, analysis and policy development across portfolio areas.
• Provide timely, expert advice to Deputy Secretary, Secretary, Premier and Cabinet and manage Cabinet processes.
• Shape policy, legislation, programs and machinery of government arrangements to drive priorities.
