Job summary
Rockhampton Hospital in Central Queensland seeks an FRACS-qualified Orthopaedic Surgeon to lead the Orthopaedic Surgery Department, combining executive leadership with an active clinical practice and mentoring future specialists across the region.
The Clinical Director will guide strategic, operational and clinical direction while maintaining a 0.5 FTE clinical workload and collaborating with executive leadership to deliver high-quality orthopaedic care.
Qualifications
- FRACS-qualified orthopaedic surgeon
- Lead strategic direction of Orthopaedic Services
- Mentor trainees, junior doctors and medical students
- Drive innovation, education and research in the region
- Maintain minimum 0.5 FTE clinical workload
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic direction and future development of Orthopaedic Services across Central Queensland Health
- Deliver high-quality specialist Orthopaedic care within a major regional referral hospital
- Drive clinical governance, patient safety and quality improvement initiatives
- Lead workforce planning, recruitment and departmental performance
- Supervise and mentor Orthopaedic trainees, junior doctors and medical students
- Support research, education and innovation within the department
- Collaborate with executive leadership and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure equitable, high-quality Orthopaedic services across Central Queensland Health facilities
