Job summary

Queensland Health in Rockhampton is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Specialist / Staff Specialist in Orthopaedics. The role covers elective and trauma surgery, clinics, teaching and telehealth, with a 1:7 on-call roster and negotiable hours for the right candidate.

An Upper Limb fellowship and FRACS are preferred, with strong shoulder/ elbow/hand expertise. You’ll work with a supportive team across multiple theatres and partner with students and junior staff.

Qualifications

• Requires MBBS (or equivalent), FRACS in Orthopaedic Surgery and AHPRA registration or eligibility.
• Upper Limb fellowship is strongly preferred with shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand experience.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate, consult and deliver elective and trauma orthopaedics.
• Run clinics and ward rounds; join the 1:7 on-call roster.
• Lead and teach junior doctors; participate in audits and CPD.
• Contribute to research and expand telehealth services across CQ.
