WA Country Health Service – Central Office

Salary: MP Year 1-9 $454,875 - $561,650 p.a. (inclusive of base salary, 11.5% superannuation and applicable allowances)

We are currently seeking an innovative and solutions-focused Executive Director Medical Services to join our team.

The position is a Fixed Term Full Time appointment for up to 5 years, with the possibility of extension(s).

About the role:

This position leads and is accountable for the strategic direction and delivery of the WA Country Health Service (WACHS) program for medical workforce, medical education, medical reform, and medicolegal matters within WACHS. The role ensures strong engagement across the organization to foster a capable, supported, and sustainable workforce.

It works collaboratively with the Executive Teams and clinical staff to deliver patient-centered, high-quality, value-based health services to WA’s regional and remote populations and contributes to decision-making on WACHS-wide issues.

The role involves providing high-level clinical advice to the Executive and leading reform initiatives and strategic direction for WACHS.

WACHS is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the largest globally, providing health services to approximately 530,000 people, including 57,000 Aboriginal people, across a vast area of over 2.5 million square kilometres. The organization comprises seven regions, with a network of public hospitals, health services, and health centers across rural and remote Western Australia. Our core mission is to provide quality, accessible health services to residents and visitors of rural WA.
